For years we’d each been doing this separately inside our own companies: running business-critical IT, building software and automations, and coaching leaders through change. Clever AI is what happens when you put those three disciplines in one room.

Why we joined forces

Every week, each of us was having the same conversation with clients: “What should we actually do about AI?”

Ben was hearing it from the businesses whose IT his team runs. Danny was hearing it from clients he was already building automation for. Andrew was hearing it from the leaders he coaches. And each of us could only answer part of the question, because doing AI properly isn’t one job. It’s three.

You need someone who understands your business commercially: where the hours go, what a saved hour is worth, and how your people will react to change. You need someone who can actually build, making automations, agents and custom tools that fit how you work rather than how a demo works. And you need someone who can run it afterwards: securely, monitored, supported, with a phone that gets answered.

Ben Griffiths

Co-founder · Infrastructure, security & operations

Ben is Managing Director of Clever IT, a Bolton-based managed service provider whose 22-strong team looks after business-critical IT for organisations across the North West and beyond. For over a decade he has run the unglamorous side of technology that everything else depends on: cloud, security, GDPR and support that answers the phone.

At Clever AI, Ben’s team makes sure every automation and agent we deploy is secure, monitored and properly supported. AI that isn’t run like production IT is a liability. Ben’s job is making sure ours never is.

Danny

Co-founder · Software & AI engineering

Danny founded IceBoxDesigns, a Manchester software studio that has spent more than fifteen years building custom software, integrations and automation for industries from aviation to the motor trade, including replacing fragile spreadsheets and manual processes with systems that just work. Clients describe him as the person who never sleeps until it ships.

At Clever AI, Danny leads the build: the workflow automations, the AI agents, the custom tools. Engineered around how your business actually operates, in plain English, with no geek-speak.

Andrew Ramwell

Co-founder · Strategy, people & change

Andrew is a director of Know+Do, a Bury-based coaching and consultancy practice that has helped hundreds of UK businesses plan, adapt and grow. With a background spanning business and academia, he specialises in sales, marketing and managing change: the human side of technology that decides whether it sticks.

At Clever AI, Andrew makes sure every project starts from a commercial question, not a tech one, and that your team is trained, confident and actually using what we build ninety days after go-live.
